Lagos confirms when Blue Line Rail will start its operations
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration has made public announcement that the Blue Line Rail will commence operations soonest.
TopNaija recalls that the Blue Line Rail was inaugurated by Governor Sanwo-Olu in December 2022, about nine months ago.
The Governor announced on Wednesday about the commencement of the operations by next week, Monday, September 4, 2023 between Marina to Mile 2.
The Managing Director, Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, Abimbola Akinajo, while speaking on Tuesday, at the Blue Rail Line Terminal in Marina, said Governor Sanwo-Olu, is expected to be the first passenger at exactly 9 am at the Marina station on Monday.
She also said that from Tuesday, September 5, partial passenger operations will begin from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. for the morning peak and from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for the afternoon peak.
According to Akinajo, these activities will begin with 12 trips per day for two weeks before increasing to 76 flights per day.
