Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure has been discharged

Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has been discharged from a private hospital in Abuja where he was receiving treatment following a fire incident that engulfed his residence on Wednesday.

The fire, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, left Abure’s residence in ruins, prompting assertions from party officials that it was an assassination attempt.

According to statements from the party’s spokesperson, Obiora Ifoh, the fire broke out around 1 am while Abure and his family were asleep. The intensity of the blaze reportedly trapped the family inside, necessitating assistance from neighbors and security personnel to facilitate their escape.

Despite the swift response of the Fire Service, Abure and his family were evacuated from the scene and immediately taken to a private hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, their condition was described as stable.

Kennedy Ahanotu, the National Youth Leader of the Labour Party, confirmed that Julius Abure and his brother have been discharged from the hospital. Ahanotu reassured that Abure appeared to be in good health and would return for further medical checks the next day.

While the LP’s National Working Committee acknowledged the efforts of Abure’s security detail in handling the situation, they agreed that once he is discharged, Abure should personally report the incident to the police. Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.

The incident has sparked concerns among party members and the public, prompting calls for thorough investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire and ensure the safety of Julius Abure and his family.
