Labour Party Candidate Olumide Oworu Stands Stronger After Attack

Labour party (LP) candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency 1, Olumide Oworu was attacked during his campaign in the Surulere area of Lagos  state.

Topnaija reports that the 28-year-old actor cum politician narrowly escaped unhurt when some unidentified hoodlums suspected to be political thugs reportedly attacked his team during a campaign walk of the LP on Tuesday , March 14th, 2023.

He further assured his supporters that he will not be deterred, but rather will be more committed to seeing through the campaign.

He tweeted: “My team and I were attacked on Tuesday as we attempted to campaign at Iponri, Surulere. A member of my team was injured, but we are thankful the incident didn’t escalate past the level it was. The case has been reported at the Iponri police station.

“I am not deterred by the incident. Instead I am more committed to seeing this through. We will pass through the wards in constituency 1 (Akinhanmi/Cole, Adeniran/Ogunsanya, Iponri Housing Estate/Eric Moore, Igbaja/Stadium, Shitta/Ogunlana Drive, Yaba/Ojuelegba). See you outside!”
