Kogi Explosion throws residents into Panic

An explosion is reported to have occurred in Kabba, Kogi State to throw residents into panic on Sunday evening.

The incident was said to have happened directly opposite the Mannajot Petrol Station with a number of people feared to have been caught in it and left injured.

Reports are yet to be detailed surrounding the incident but security sources fear it could be a bomb blast.

The rumors running the mill places suspicion on the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP),

The ISWAP had in April claimed responsibility for an attack on a police station in Adavi Local Government Area of the state that claimed the lives of three policemen.

The latest development comes few days after another explosion had occurred in Kabba.

Fear now grips Kogi indigenes and the rest of Southern Nigeria over the idea of ISWAP turning its attention to the South.
