Kevin Smith breaks silence on Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez

Amid these rumors, Affleck’s longtime friend and collaborator, Kevin Smith, has addressed the situation, choosing to respect Affleck’s privacy during this tumultuous time.

Smith, known for his work with Affleck on cult classics like Mallrats and Chasing Amy, revealed that he hasn’t contacted the actor, despite his wife Jennifer Schwalbach Smith’s suggestion.

“I, being his least trustworthy friend who’s very loose-lipped, thought, ‘The last person he needs to hear from right now is the guy who chats a lot’,” Smith explained. He added that Affleck will reach out when he’s ready and in a better place.

Meanwhile, Affleck has recently purchased a $20.5 million estate in Pacific Palisades, moving out of the marital home he shared with Lopez. The new property boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a guest house, and other luxurious amenities. While Lopez remains in their previous home, Affleck has been staying in a rental property near his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s Brentwood residence.
