Kalvin Philips brutally trolls Manchester United

Manchester City’s new signing, Kalvin Philips due to current allegiance, shouldn’t consider giving City rivals, Manchester United a soft landing.

But current allegiances aside, the former Leeds United midfielder isn’t even a fan of the Old Trafford side to begin with.

If not by playing for Leeds United alone, Philips being a Leeds United fan growing up should dissuade him from affiliating with the Red devils.

Hence, while the links of him crossing the divide to Manchester came up, Kalvin Philips did nothing but to scoff over the idea which he terms a betrayal to his Leeds affiliation.

The midfielder again remarked on it out in the open when questioned about it, and he declared he was never going to join United for any reason.

It was never an option due to his ‘loyalty’ to former club, Leeds United.

Kalvin Philips despite Leeds United’s poor run of form last season had quite the impressive performance that earned him a call up to the England national team set up, while links to various clubs emerged.

With such kind of form the prior season, it became much of a doubt that the midfielder would play for Leeds the following season, but between the Red devils and the Cityzens, him being a Leeds fan, it was only one option as he completed a £45m move.

“No, there was never any chance of me going there. You know my loyalty to Leeds, my family as well, they’re all Leeds fans.” He said while speaking with Man City media during their U. S tour.

“I was honored by United wanting me, such a big team – one of the biggest teams in the world.

“But no, I had to stay loyal to Leeds and choose to go to the other side of Manchester.”
