Jurgen Klopp Should Go After Chelsea Stars—Brad Friedel
Liverpool’s form and the rumors of a 7 season curse for Jurgen Klopp in clubs he has managed in his managerial career is no open secret especially in this season when his team endured the worst possible start to a season under the German.
And it is no secret that the real issue stemmed from the club’s stubbornness in not reinforcing its midfield before the start to the season when the club stood a chance to change the 7 year curse narrative for Jurgen Klopp.
According to Brad Friedel, a former goalie for Tottenham, he believes the Reds stand a chance at redeeming a very poor start to the season if Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool looked to recruit Mason Mount from Chelsea.
Additionally, Friedel believes N’Golo Kante, who is also a teammate of Mount’s, would be a great signing by Jurgen Klopp next year on a free transfer.
Brad Friedel thinks Klopp making a deal to bring Mount and Kante to Anfield would be amazing for the Liverpool team and for Jurgen Klopp whose midfield options have been the talk of the media lately.
Mount’s current Chelsea contract expires in the summer of 2024, and negotiations for a new one have stagnated. Kante, meanwhile, will be a free agent at the conclusion of the current campaign.
“Mason Mount is an exceptional player, but the only time it would be a no-brainer for Jurgen Klopp is if it works financially for Chelsea and Liverpool,” Friedel told Betway.
“He’d be a good signing for Liverpool.”
He continued:
“Kante is really good, there have been some injury issues, sure, but he is outstanding. Klopp knows better than me, but I think Kante will have a lot of interested clubs, and he would be an incredible signing for any of them, including Liverpool.”
