Jadon Sancho's future at Manchester United now uncertain

Jadon Sancho’s stance on a potential return to Manchester United has come to light amidst ongoing uncertainty regarding his future at the club.

The England international, who spent the latter half of the last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, played a crucial role in helping the Bundesliga side reach the Champions League final at Wembley.

Sancho’s return to Germany was precipitated by a public fallout with United manager Erik ten Hag in September, which resulted in Sancho being relegated to training with the academy.

Despite this, sources at Inews have revealed that Sancho is open to the idea of giving Manchester United another shot. However, his willingness is contingent on Ten Hag’s departure from the managerial position.

Ten Hag, whose future at Old Trafford hangs in the balance, endured a challenging campaign, leading United to a record-low eighth-place finish in the Premier League despite clinching the FA Cup. His fate at the club remains undecided as he awaits confirmation on whether he will be allowed to see out the final year of his contract.

In contrast, the BBC has reported that Manchester United are inclined to sell Sancho this summer, regardless of the managerial situation, and have set a price tag of £40 million for the winger. Dortmund, keen on having Sancho return next season, are reportedly seeking another loan deal.

However, United prefer a straightforward sale, constrained by Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations which limit their transfer funds.

Sancho’s journey at Manchester United began in July 2021 when he joined from Dortmund for £73 million. With two years remaining on his contract, the winger’s next move remains a topic of speculation. Interest from European clubs has been noted, with Serie A giants Juventus among those previously linked with the former Manchester City and Watford academy player.
