Veteran actor Jon Voight has publicly rebuked his daughter, Angelina Jolie, for her outspoken support of Palestinian civilians amidst the ongoing war.

Angelina Jolie, known for her humanitarian efforts, has been vocal about her stance, drawing the ire of her father and a few in the industry. In an interview with Variety, Voight suggested that his daughter’s views are heavily influenced by her work with the United Nations.

Palestine: America show concern as Countries turn on Israel

“I love my daughter. I don’t want to fight with my daughter, but the fact is, I think she has been influenced by the U.N. From the beginning, it’s been awful with human rights. They call it human rights, but it’s just anti-Israel bashing,” Voight remarked.

The family tension comes as American singer Kehlani also revealed backlash and lost opportunities due to her support for Palestine. Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Kehlani shared that raising $500,000 for Gaza, Congo, and Sudan resulted in “a lot of pushback” and jeopardized her career prospects.

As the Israel-Hamas war continues to stir strong emotions globally, it has also triggered personal conflicts and professional repercussions for those who take a stand.
