"International passport will now be processed within 2 weeks" – Minister of Interior

Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior has assured citizens of Nigeria that no one, hence forth would need to wait more than two weeks to get their international passport.

As there have been series of outcry of passport backlogs and delay, Tunji-Ojo, addressed the issue during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, October 4.

Updating the public on the state of passport backlog in the country, the minister revealed that the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has cleared all the 204,332 passport application backlogs.

In his words;

“No one will ever wait for two weeks to get passports again. If you apply and have been captured, you will get your passport within two weeks,”

TopNaija had recalled that Tunji-Ojo had on September 7, given a two-week ultimatum to the NIS to clear all passport application backlogs.
