I’m tired of my 45-year-old marriage — Singer, Charly Boy hints on getting a divorce

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Charly Boy has once again, given a hint about divorcing his wife of over 45 years.

The 72-year-old singer, Charly Boy claimed that he is fed up with the institution called marriage as the longer he stays married, the harder it gets.

The self-acclaimed area fada revealed this in a post on his Twitter handle which made Nigerians question if his marriage with Diane Oputa is on a verge of collapse.

In the tweet, the singer and political advocate asked Nigerians if they would be surprised if he told them he’s getting a divorce and returning to bachelorhood.

According to him, he has always believed that the institution of marriage is hard and it gets harder the longer one has been married.

His tweet reads,

“My People,

If I tell una say, after over 45yrs of marriage to my wife dat am going back to bachelorhood,

what would you say?

I don talk say dis marriage of a tin just no easy.

The longer u stay, the harder it gets.

What should I do? I tire oooo.😕”

This, however, is not the first time the politician advocate, Charly Boy is publicly revealing issues in his marriage as in January, 2022 he took to social media to ask for advice to keep his marriage going for more years.

The singer who has been married to his wife, Diane Oputa for 45 years stated that even seemingly happy marriages are not perfect.

Sharing his wedding photos, Charly Boy in his caption opened up that his energy is dwindling and asked for advice on how to stretch his marriage for another 10 years.

According to him, marriages are hard and most people are just managing.
