I’m not the first – Ogun Farmer affirms after defiling 14-year-old girl

A farmer, identified as Wasiu Sorunke, has been apprehended after he allegedly defiled a 14-year-old SSS1 student in Ogun State.

TopNaija gathered that the 52-year-old man insisted when being questioned, that he was not the first man to sleep with the minor.

Confirming the arrest, SP Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, said Sorunke, who admitted to being ‘randy,’ used to patronize the mother of the victim, a food vendor living in his neighborhood and had become a family friend.

According to the PPRO, the food vendor’s daughter used to serve the suspect whenever he patronized the shop.

“She would also help her mother in the shop before going back home to do some chores and would return later to continue helping her mother,” Odutola stated.

“On a day in July, during the holiday, the girl came back to the shop and told her mother that she could not open the padlock of their room door. Thinking of what could be done, the mother asked a young man who was around to help, and the suspect, who was also there at that time, volunteered.

“There was a day he left his phone with the girl in her mother’s shop and she was playing a game on it. She later took the phone to him in his home and he slept with her. It continued until the mother was informed.”

TopNaija gathered that the moment Sorunke noticed the girl’s mother was attending to customers in her canteen, he would go to her house to meet her daughter and have sexual relation with her. At other times, he would invite the girl to his house to commit the act, until his luck ran out when neighbours informed the girl’s mother.

Policemen from Owode Egba Division arrested him before he was transferred to Anti-Human Trafficking at Oke-Ilewo area, headed by SP Bunmi Asogbon.

In an interview with the publication, the suspect said that he didn’t meet the minor as a virgin.

“I ‘m a widower; I lost my wife two years ago. I had four children but I ’m left with one, a daughter. She’s 20 years old, married with one child and pregnant with the second one,” he explained.

“On a day in July, during the holiday, the girl came back to the shop and told her mother that she could not open the padlock of their room door. Thinking of what could be done, the mother asked a young man who was around to help, and the suspect, who was also there at that time, volunteered,” Odutola stated.

“I was arrested because I started sleeping with the daughter of the food vendor I was patronising. She’s 14 years old. I had been interacting closely with the family and one day, the mother asked me to help her break the padlock used to secure the door of her room when it could not be opened by her daughter,” he explained.

“When we got to the police station, we were to go for a medical examination to get a doctor’s report. It was confirmed that her hymen is no longer intact.”

Not seeing anything wrong with what he did, the suspect continued to insist that he was not the first man to sleep with the girl.

He disclosed that he has a woman he was courting for marriage and another one he was just dating, but he said that he was tempted to have a sexual relationship with the girl because they both live in the same neighborhood.

“I know I’m randy. I started with the girl in July,” he confessed.
