I do not support blasphemy against Allah SWT – Reno Omokri weighs in on Sokoto student’s saga
Media personality, Reno Omokri has weighed in on the female student that was burnt alive for blasphemy.
Taking to his Instagram page, the former Presidential aide and Author, Reno Omokri explained that he is not in support of blasphemy against the Islamic God, Allah, even though he is a follower of Christ.
Recall that a 200-level student, Deborah Samuel of Shehu Shagari College of Education was burnt alive by her Muslim colleagues on Thursday, May 12 for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad.
Given this, Reno Omokri advised that when there is an accusation of blasphemy, it should not be followed by violence, but through a judicial proceeding.
According to him, people should respect other people’s religion regardless, even at the moment temperaments are high.

In similar news, the United Kingdom has condemned the gruesome killing of Deborah Samuel for insulting prophet Muhammad.
Reacting to Deborah’s murder, Catriona Laing, British high commissioner to Nigeria, has condemned the killing of Deborah.
I condemn the murder of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto, and urge the police and relevant authorities to ensure the perpetrators of this horrific act are made to face justice in line with the law,” she wrote.
