Gunmen murders PoS operator in Ogun State

A Point of Sale (POS) operator, Mutiu Salako, has been reportedly shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Oke Lantoro, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

TopNaija reports that the unfortunate incident happened at around 6 pm on Sunday. It was also rumored that the incident was a cult-related attack.

Confirming Salako’s death, the Ogun State Police Command said. through its spokesperson Omolola Odutola, that the incident was an attempted robbery, not related to cult activities.

The police have since taken swift action in response to the attack.

“According to the report I have, it was the police operatives from Kemta Division that responded to the attack. Two gunmen on a motorcycle shot Mutiu Salako, a POS operator who later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital,” Odutola stated, correcting the speculations around the nature of the killing.

Three people thought to be involved with the crime were arrested after the event during an extensive police raid in the area. As part of their investigation, the police are still trying to figure out what happened with the attack and bring everyone responsible to justice.

As the police step up their efforts to stop violence and make the area safer, they have asked people to stay cool and report any strange behavior.
