The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed that it is ready to sacrifice some states during the forthcoming governorship election across the country.

The party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, explained that the decision to sacrifice some states is in the interest of democracy.

According to Adamu, the APC is not a greedy party, and it will only focus on winning all the winnable states.

Speaking further, he said, “We will make some sacrifices where necessary so that democracy can flourish.”

However, he did not mention the specific states that the party is willing to sacrifice. The party is fielding candidates in almost all the states, and the chairman expressed confidence that the APC would win in most of the states.

He also assured Nigerians that the composition of the cabinet would not be delayed unnecessarily. According to him, the president-elect is not yet sworn in, and it would not be appropriate to focus on what he will do. He, however, promised that whatever the president will do will be in the best interest of the country.

Adamu also noted that losing some states is the nature of politics. He cited the example of Lagos, which is a strategic state in terms of location, population, economy, and political history. He said that losing Lagos did not make the APC cry foul or complain, but the party got what it wanted, which is the presidency.

He also added that the loss of some major states, including Lagos, Kano, Katsina, Nassarawa, and Kaduna, did not make the APC shed tears. Instead, it made the party the real political party in the country, as it did not cry foul. He emphasized that it does not make sense for a party that won Lagos to complain about losing a state like Ekiti.
