Footballer Slumps To His Death During Training at Ogun State Stadium

A football player and enthusiast, identified as Sodiq Adebisi, has reportedly slumped to his death during a training session in Ogun State.
TopNaija gathered that the 34-year-old man slumped and died at the time of his football training on Saturday at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, at the State mentioned above.
Seeing his teammate fall to the ground, his colleagues reportedly rushed him to a state hospital in Ijebu-Ode.
However, after so much effort by medical professionals at the hospital, Sodiq was later pronounced dead the same day he was rushed to the hospital.
It was gathered that the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the state mortuary in Ijebu-Ode.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola disclosed that the deceased footballer’s brother, Ganiyu Adebisi, had approached the Igbeba Police Division to demand the corpse for burial.
“The brother came to report the incident at our Igbeba division. The family said they don’t want any investigation and that they wanted to bury the deceased according to Islamic rite,” Odutola stated.
