Police Detained And Disarmed After Gunning Down Young Boy At East-West Road Checkpoint, Delta State (VIDEO)

The Delta State police command seized and disarmed a police inspector after a gun fired by him struck a young man in the leg and abdomen at a checkpoint along the East-West route in Ughelli, Delta State.

The event, which happened on December 5, has now gone viral and prompted anger online when one person published a video of the victim’s injuries online.

The video shows the youngster in anguish, as well as his companion, who was screaming out in agony and anxiety, expressing his displeasure with the police harassment.

The post that accompanied the video chastised the police for not carefully screening people before awarding them uniforms and weaponry.

DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police command’s spokesperson, expressed regret and verified that the officer responsible had been detained in response to the event.

However, several members of the public have expressed their displeasure with the scenario, questioning the detained officer’s obscured face and demanding a stop to police officers’ youth persecution.
