"Football is for Everyone, not just Real Madrid!" — Aguero

Former Manchester City star Sergio Aguero isn’t having any of Real Madrid Ballon d’Or shenanigans as the Argentine takes to the public to slam the La Liga side.

After Manchester City star Rodri claimed the 2024 Ballon d’Or over Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, tempers flared in Madrid’s camp, with Real Madrid reportedly canceling attendance plans and releasing a scathing statement calling the decision “disrespectful.”

Vinicius’s teammate Eduardo Camavinga added fuel, decrying “football politics,” while furious fans branded Rodri’s win the “biggest robbery in football history.”

But former Argentina striker Sergio Aguero didn’t mince words in defending Rodri’s triumph.

Labeling Real Madrid’s reaction “entitled,” Aguero argued that the Ballon d’Or isn’t Madrid’s trophy to claim. “Well deserved. Rodri is the best player in the world. Football is for everyone, not just Real Madrid,” he remarked, hitting back at the club’s heated response.

With Aguero’s pointed critique echoing across social media, the debate has only intensified. It raises an important question:

Is Madrid’s reaction valid frustration, or has the club crossed into arrogance by expecting the award to land in their camp?
