Finally! Man United agree £43 million deal for Inter Milan's Onana

Manchester United has reached an agreement with Inter Milan to secure the services of goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Cameroonian shot-stopper has also agreed on personal terms and is expected to sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option for an additional year.

Inter Milan anticipates that the total fee for Onana’s transfer, including add-ons, will amount to approximately £43 million.

The Red Devils are poised to announce the deal on July 17 and are actively working to process Onana’s visa, enabling him to join the rest of the squad on their tour to the United States, scheduled to begin on Wednesday.

If all goes according to plan, the 27-year-old goalkeeper could make his debut for Manchester United in a friendly match against Arsenal in New Jersey on Saturday. During the US tour, the team is also set to face off against Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Reports suggest that once the transfer of Onana is officially completed, goalkeeper Dean Henderson will be granted permission to make a permanent move to Nottingham Forest.

Henderson spent the previous season on loan at Forest and has been back at Carrington for the start of pre-season training. A £20 million transfer to the City Ground is expected to be finalized.

Having previously worked together at Ajax Amsterdam, Onana’s reunion with manager Erik ten Hag at Manchester United will mark the second signing of the summer for the Red Devils, following the arrival of midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea.

Onana’s acquisition will fill the void left by the departure of long-serving goalkeeper David De Gea, who recently left Old Trafford on a free transfer after spending 12 years at the club.
