Fatal accident on Lambata-Suleja road claims six lives
A tragic accident over the weekend along the Lambata-Suleja road has resulted in the deaths of six individuals. Reports indicate that 11 people were involved in the collision between a DAF truck and a Peugeot 406 car.
The incident occurred at Gwachipe village, approximately three kilometers from Lambata. According to eyewitness accounts, all those involved in the accident were male. Three individuals died at the scene, while the remaining three succumbed to their injuries en route to the General Hospital in Suleja.
The bodies of the victims have been retrieved and taken to the same hospital, where their families can claim them. Among the deceased is a lecturer from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
Mr. Kumar Tsukwam, the Sector Commander of the Niger State Command, confirmed the accident to LEADERSHIP.
He attributed the cause of the crash to overspeeding. Tsukwam stated that within seven minutes of the accident occurring, his team arrived at the scene to initiate rescue operations, but regrettably, six lives were lost in the tragedy.
