Edo police arrest native doctor for failed “Anti-Bullet” charm test

The Edo State Police Command has detained a 19-year-old native doctor, Timothy Dauda, for allegedly shooting and killing his client, Alex Ezekiel, during a failed “anti-bullet” charm trial.

The failed “anti-bullet” charm trial occurred on August 20 in Onumu Community, near Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.

SP Moses Yamu, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest to NAN on Monday. Yamu stated that the suspect was apprehended by officers from the Igarra Divisional Police Station.

According to sources, Dauda claimed to specialize in creating charms to protect against gunshots and machete attacks. Ezekiel reportedly visited Dauda to obtain such a charm, but during the trial, the native doctor shot his client to test the charm’s effectiveness. The charm failed, resulting in fatal injuries to Ezekiel.

Despite being rushed to a hospital in Igarra, Ezekiel was pronounced dead upon arrival. The police spokesperson confirmed that Dauda would be prosecuted once investigations are complete.
