Photo of quack doctor arrested over death of patient in Nasarawa
It was reported that a 35-year-old fake doctor named Isa Usman killed a patient in the Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The police have now arrested him.
Born in Gombe State, Usman was caught in Iyayi, a village in Keana LGA, after he is said to have given Zaki Yaka Ajohol a shot that killed him.
The suspect, who only has an FSLC (First School Leaving Certificate), said that he learned how to be a doctor at Asibitin Yusuf in Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, a spokesman for the command, said this in a statement on September 4, 2024. He said that preliminary investigations showed that the suspect is from Pindi village, Akko LGA, Gombe State, and has only a basic school leave certificate.
He admitted that for three days, he got and gave his victim procaine shots to treat typhoid.
The suspect gave the victim the same amount of shot on the fourth day, which caused them to fall and become unconscious right away.
“The victim was rushed to primary health care at Akeleku where he was confirmed dead,” the PPRO stated.
“Consequently, some drugs and other medical implements were recovered from the suspect as an exhibit.
“The Commissioner of Police Umar Shehu Nadada has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia for further investigation and prosecution.”
