Emilia Asim-Ita, a former Red Media partner and Future Awards Partner and Practise Director of A’Lime Media has passed on.

Based on our findings, the multi-sector strategist and business leader died on the morning of Friday, January 29, 2021. The company she founded, A’Lime Media, announced her death but the cause of her death is yet to be known at the time of this report.

Raised by a doting mother and widow, Emilia who was in her 30s, was a brand strategist and had worked with many brands, media and non-governmental establishments.

In 2005, three young Nigerians below age 21 – Emilia Asim-Ita, Chude Jideonwo and Debola Williams came together and created The Future Awards. The idea was to celebrate the achievements of young Nigerians between the ages of 18 – 31 in divergent fields of endeavour, to counter the criminal image that the foreign media was giving Nigeria.

Emilia created AML Media 10 years ago after ending her partnership with Chude Jideonwo and Debola Williams at Red Media. She then subsequently leveraged her experience to build and manage very successful brands as well as multistakeholder projects.

AML Media wrote on Instagram:

Emilia loved to bring ideas to life, read and write, and was passionate about learning, meeting and connecting people. Several young Nigerians have since reacted to the shocking, heart-wrenching news.
