Edouard Mendy feels for Liverpool after Mane’s exit
Edouard Mendy for some reasons share sympathy for his Premier League rivals, Liverpool after his Senegal teammate departed Anfield.
Rightly, the Senegalese and Chelsea goalkeeper should be excited that one of their rivals was being weakened with the departure of its star attacker, but instead he feels a sense of apathy.
According to the former Ligue 1 player, he shares that the Merseyside outfit won’t be the same after it sold the former Southampton man to Bayern Munich.
Mendy also stated how the Premier League would feel it the most with his exit as it looses one of its attraction.
It shouldn’t go off notice that aside Heung Min Son, Mohamed Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, no one scored more Premier League goals than Sadio Mane’s 16 goals, showing the new Munich signing has no intentions of slowing down.
While speaking on Chelsea’s America preseason tour, Edouard Mendy remarked:
“I think it is a big loss for the Premier League in terms of quality and in terms of the person.
“We’ve lost someone great and I hope for him he will enjoy the Bundesliga.
“He’s also a big loss [to Liverpool] because of his quality, the impact he makes and also because, for the young players, he’s an example. When you lose someone like this it can have a huge impact.”
Sadio Mane is a player who has earned rave reviews from numerous players of the game particularly from teammate, Fabinho who revealed he had persuaded the player to stay at the club, praising Mane for his ‘high levels of intensity and concentration’ and describing him as a complete player.
For former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, he considers Sadio Mane as his favorite Liverpool fan who he describes as “world-class winger” and compared to another former Liverpool player, John Barnes.
