Yakubu Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has defected from the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
During the presidential campaign, Dogara was welcomed into the party by the party’s presidential candidate and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in the nation’s commercial metropolis, Lagos State.
This comes only 48 hours after the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum, chaired by Dogara, named Atiku as its preferred presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
