Henry Cavill is officially Superman no more as DC announces new actor to take over the role of Kal-El in the upcoming Superman Legacy movie.

In a major announcement, DC Studios has unveiled the dynamic duo set to portray the legendary characters of Clark Kent and Lois Lane in the highly anticipated film “Superman: Legacy.”

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been chosen to don the roles of the Man of Steel and the intrepid journalist, respectively. The film will be written and directed by DC’s co-CEO, James Gunn, known for his exceptional work on previous projects.

David Corenswet, recognized for his roles in “Pearl” and “The Politician,” will step into the iconic red and blue suit as Clark Kent/Superman. Meanwhile, Rachel Brosnahan, acclaimed for her performances in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “House of Cards,” will portray the tenacious and resourceful Lois Lane.

Rumors had been swirling about the casting decisions, with Corenswet and Brosnahan among the talented actors shortlisted for the coveted roles.

Other contenders included Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney for Superman, and Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dyvenor for Lois Lane. The official confirmation came via a tweet from director James Gunn, who expressed his enthusiasm for the casting choices, praising their acting prowess and their wonderful personalities.

During a recent appearance on the podcast “Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum,” Gunn shed some light on the audition process and dispelled certain rumors surrounding the casting. He emphasized that while some reports had contained inaccurate information, he could not directly address each rumor without thoroughly reviewing the entire casting process.

Gunn stressed the importance of respecting the privacy of the actors involved in screen tests, acknowledging that the misinformation circulating can be challenging for those affected. He acknowledged the role of journalists in seeking out information but also acknowledged the complexities and inaccuracies that can arise from relying solely on industry sources.
