Cote d’Ivoire wins bid to Host #AFCON2023

West-African country Cote d’Ivoire will be the host of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (Afcon), TOPNAIJA.NG can confirm.

Cote d’Ivoire had been scheduled to host the 2021 tournament, but that was changed after CAF asked Cameroon to host that instead.

According to Goal, the Federation of Ivorian Football (FIF) accepted the 2023 hosting rights after CAF president Ahmad Ahmad met Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara.

Cameroon had been slated to host this year’s AFCON, but was stripped of the rights after failing to properly prepare.
