CKay earns Gold Certification in The US

Nigerian singer CKay, has achieved a great feat in the United States as he is now among Nigerian singers to hold the gold certification of record sales.

His song, “Love Nwantiti” became a global hit in 2021 and the Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA) , which handles certification of songs has listed CKay’s song among its new certification of songs.

“Love Nwantiti” is a song from his EP “CKay the First”, which was released in 2019. The song however, became a global hit in 2021, launching him into the international stardom.

The song became the second Nigerian song to hit the U.S Billboard Hot 100 Chart after Wizkid’s “Essence”.

The artiste joins Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Korede Bello to earn a Gold certification in the United States. “Love Nwantiti” earned a Gold and Platinum certification in France last year.

It also earned a silver certification in the UK after selling out 200,000 units. The song also hit over 15 Billion views on Tik-Tok, making it the biggest Nigerian song to do so.
