China Launches Big Data Platform For Rice Industry

China has launched a new big data platform for its rice industry chain, which is expected to promote the digitalization and informationization of the industry.

The platform was led by the China National Rice Research Institute and covers the entire industrial chain, from production and storage to market, trade, consumption, and science and technology. The platform will focus on data generation, collection, storage, processing, analysis, and services related to the rice industry.

According to Xu Chunchun, the deputy director of the science and technology information center of the CNRRI, the platform will regularly publish authoritative reports related to the rice industry to improve the overall industrial service level and capability.

It will provide services such as intelligent identification of rice seed production, insect pests and diseases, remote guidance, and data retrieval and analysis.

Xu also mentioned that in the future, the platform will be upgraded to a service platform to create a digital ecosystem of the rice industry with full coverage of digital production and docking of service networks.

The launch of this big data platform is expected to benefit the rice industry in China by providing more accurate and comprehensive data, improving the efficiency of production, and promoting the sustainable development of the industry.
