Chelsea find their man in Leicester City boss

After speculations on who the next Chelsea manager would be following the exit of Mauricio Pochettino, it has emerged that the Blues are ready to move in on Leicester City boss, Enzo Maresca.

According to Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are set to agree contract terms with Enzo Maresca to be named as new head coach.

Romano goes on to state that the Leicester City boss has already accepted the project.

It is believed that the contract terms are for an initial 2-year deal with an option for a further year.

The report from Romano states that Enzo Maresca is Chelsea’s man, with both coach and club keen on the transfer.

Prior to the end of the season, Maresca had championed Leicester City to the top of the Championship table, winning automatic promotion in his first season in the Second tier division.

Right now, it is believed it is only a matter of time before a compensation fee is agreed between Chelsea and Leicester City.

Negotiations have reportedly started as Chelsea are eager to have Maresca as their new head coach by this week.

It was initially rumored that former Assistant manager of Manchester United, Kieran McKenna was in the running for the job, but same reports believe McKenna turned down the move in favor of Manchester United who are reported to be also gearing to sack their manager, Erik ten Hag.
