Chelsea Fans Don’t Know How Special Wesley Fofana Is

Wesley Fofana became Chelsea’s unlikeliest hero yesterday following the Blues’ victory against Leeds United in the premier league as the West London side returned to winning ways after suffering a long spell of inconsistencies.

This has thus brought to attention, pundit Gary Lineker to having a few words about the former Leicester City man who took over from Thiago Silva in the heart of Chelsea’s defense to inspire a 1-0 win and a clean sheet.

The Former England star and football pundit, Gary Lineker, has praised Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana, calling him a “very special” player. The 21-year-old Frenchman scored the only goal in Chelsea’s recent 1-0 victory over Leeds United.

Fofana signed with Chelsea in a £70 million transfer deal from Leicester City last summer but injuries have kept him sidelined for much of the season. Despite this, Lineker believes Chelsea fans have not yet seen the full potential of the young player.

Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, Lineker shared his thoughts on Fofana’s ability and potential, saying, “I said to some friends of mine who support Chelsea, ‘you don’t know how good this kid is yet’. But he’s very special.”

Fofana’s goal against Leeds United helped secure Chelsea‘s position in the top four of the Premier League, as they continue to compete for a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Chelsea and Wesley Fofana will hope to carry this form into the second leg fixture against German Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund, who themselves are in top form this since, currently sitting top of the league on equal points with Bayern Munich.
