Buhari, Atiku condemn ‘mindless killings’ in Kaduna

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the terrorist attack on four locations in Kaura Local Government in Kaduna State, TopNaija reports.

Two military personnel and dozens of civilians were murdered in cold-blood.

The President stated that “mindless act of violence” have no place in a civilized society. Buhari said cowardly attack on innocent civilians, law enforcement officials and the destruction of properties were extremely painful.

“The nation mourns with the Kagoro community, where the attacks took place and the military which lost their brave compatriots”, he noted.

The Nigerian leader says he is following the efforts of the state government and security agencies to track the attackers and bring them to justice. His statement by spokesman Garba Shehu warned against reprisals that may lead to further violence.

In the same vein, Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, also reacted to the death toll following attack in Kaura and Jema’a local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State in an update on Wednesday, confirmed that herders’ settlements were razed in Zangon Kataf LGA.

Atiku, reacting via his Twitter page, described the attack as unacceptable.

According to the presidential aspirant, the latest attack by gunmen has gotten to a point where human lives no longer have value.

His tweet read: “The latest attack in Kaduna in which scores of persons were killed is unacceptable and stands condemned.

“It is unacceptable that we’ve reached a point where human lives have no value.”
