Leicester City Football Club has announced that they have reached a mutual agreement with Brendan Rodgers to end his tenure as the club’s manager after four years. The announcement came as a surprise to many football fans, considering the team’s current position in the Premier League.

Leicester City Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha released a statement expressing the task that lies ahead for the team in their remaining ten games. He emphasized the need for the players to come together and show poise, quality, and fight to secure their position as a Premier League club.

Rodgers took over as the manager of Leicester City in February 2019 and had a successful time at the club. During his tenure, he led the team to a fifth-place finish in his first full season in charge and also secured the club’s first-ever FA Cup triumph in May 2021 by defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium.

Rodgers’ overall record at Leicester City includes 204 games, with 92 wins, 43 draws, and 70 defeats. In addition to this, he also led the team to victory in the Community Shield in August 2021 after beating Manchester City 1-0.

The decision to part ways with Rodgers is something that shouldn’t come as shocking owing to the team’s poor form in recent seasons.

This season sees Leicester in the drop zone and in danger of being relegated from the Premier League. The announcement of Rodgers’ departure comes at a critical time for the team, with ten games remaining in the season.

The search for a new manager is already underway, and many have speculated that former Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre could be a potential candidate. However, the primary focus for the team will be to secure their position in the Premier League and finish the season strong, with the possibility of being in better position to compete in next season’s campaign.
