BREAKING: Senate rejects Ibrahim Magu as EFCC Chairman

 

 

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Spokesman of the Senate, Abdullahi Sabi, told journalists after a closed-door session that Magu was rejected based on “security reports.”

Maju who has been the acting Chairman of the commission had been nominated by President Mohammadu Buhari to be confirmed to act in full capacity as the Chairman of the EFCC.

Senate’s decision is expected to be communicated to President Buhari.
