The Federal Government has taken a hardline stance on corruption within the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) following the explosive bribery scandal involving Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, assured Nigerians that no one involved in the controversy will evade justice.
The cross dresser, who was sentenced to prison earlier this year, allegedly bypassed serving his time in the correctional facility, prompting an investigation into bribery and corruption at the country’s highest correctional levels. In a swift response, senior prison officers, including those in Lagos and Abuja, have been suspended as investigations unfold.

Tunji-Ojo emphasized that the probe extends beyond Bobrisky, uncovering broader issues of bribery within the NCoS. He vowed that regardless of rank or position, all implicated individuals would face consequences: “We will not spare anybody, no matter how highly placed.”
With the integrity of the investigation team underlined, the minister has urged patience as the government continues its crackdown on deep-seated corruption.
