The Nigerian musician Ahmed Ololade also known as Asake is one of the biggest musicians in the Nigerian music industry at the moment. Asake is loved by millions of Nigerians and Afrobeats fans around the world.

Asake became a successful musician in Nigeria in 2020 when he dropped a single, titled Lady before he was signed to YBNL Records by the label boss, Olamide. Immediately Asake dropped another single that increased his presence in the Nigerian music industry titled Mr Money.

Asake dropped his debut EP, Ololade Asake, it was a commercial success in Nigeria and other countries of the world. He is one of the shining stars in the Street Pop and Afro Fusion music scenes.

Asake began his entertainment career as a dancer. He loved to dance and he was very good at it, so he specialized in cultural dance, spending his free time practicing a dance to improve his skill. Asake performed at school events as a high school student.
It was not long before he decided to change to singing because he wanted to be a better entertainer. However, he was also a drummer and a member of his school’s music band at the time.

Asake studied Theater & Performing arts at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he had his degree.

Asake started music professionally in 2015 after he was inspired by the success of music stars such as Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, 9ice, and Wande Coal, Asake joined the Afrobeats music space, focusing on Afro Fusion songs. He fuses Hip Hop, Amapiano, R&B, and Fuji sounds to create his unique music style.

Asake once worked as a backup singer for Broda Shaggi‘s band, performing at several shows and events in Lagos and other states in the country. He collaborated with Broda Shaggi to release the single Star in 2019. The song did well in Nigeria and helped more music fans to learn of his talent.

He started getting attention on the internet in 2020, when one of his freestyles, Lady went viral, this single earned him reposts from popular celebrities in Nigeria on several online-based platforms. Immediately the freestyle went viral, the freestyle was recorded and produced by Blaque Beats.

The song gained massive turn-up with reposts and dance videos from the likes of Broda Shaggi, Sydney Talker, and a vast number of others. With the huge turn-up, the single, Lady by Asake became an instant hit and social media anthem.

In 2022, Asake dropped one single titled Omo Ope. It went viral on the internet and he got the attention of rapper and music executive, Olamide. Olamide loved his song and decided to record his verse for the single. Immediately after, Olamide invited Asake for a meeting and offered to sign him to the YBNL record label. Asake took the offer immediately and joined the YBNL family. Asake was unveiled as YBNL‘s latest signee on the 8th of February 2022.

Immediately after, Asake released his debut EP, Ololade Asake. The EP project was just four hit tracks – Omo Ope, Sungba, Trabaye, and Baba God. He performed Baba God at a live session organized by Glitch Africa in February 2022.

Before he had the opportunity to collaborate with Grammy Award winner Burna Boy to record the remix of Sungba. The song was released on the 28th of March 200 and has topped music charts for numerous weeks.

Asake also appeared as a featured artist on DJ Spinall‘s song, Palazzo. The song was dropped on the 13th of May 2022. The visuals of Palazzo were shot and directed by TG Omori.

On the 16th of June 2022, Asake released the chart-topping single, Peace Be Unto You (PBUY). The single received positive ratings from critics and has amassed thousands of streams from all music lovers in Nigeria and other countries of the world.
