As transfer rumors begin to pile up moments before the summer and in the middle of seasons, players many at times get linked to clubs on regular players. Some a lot of the times are made up with nothing concrete.

But Villarreal winger and former Bournemouth man, Arnaut Danjuma has revealed that he was aware that a certain Merseyside club had been keeping tabs on him ahead of the summer transfer window.

And the rumors won’t go away now considering the said Merseyside club will be loosing its key man during the summer to Bayern Munich.

With Sadio Mane expected to leave the Reds, Jurgen Klopp will be expected to add another forward to his squad in the transfer window, and it made a lot of sense if Danjuma is someone they have put interest on.

The Dutch man though insisted that he didn’t want anything to do with the talks during the season as he rather wanted to remain focused on the current campaign rather than play with divided attention.

However, he has now confirmed that Liverpool were indeed following him up ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The winger said in an interview:

“I am always as honest as possible. I have never had contacts with clubs or anything like that during the season. I always know about the situation after the season. I don’t want to get involved during the season. But I was informed that Liverpool were following me closely.” He revealed.

And Danjuma stressed further that he does not want to deceive anyone when it came to his future at Villarreal admitting that if he ever gets an opportunity to join a bigger club he would consider an offer to leave the Spanish side.

“I will never lie and I think it’s a bad quality if you are not ambitious. And if a club came along that offers a higher sporting platform, I would always consider it.”
