Andre Onana in a difficult spot with Ten Hag
Manchester United goalie, Andre Onana may have showed up at Old Trafford with the hype, but it seems that relationship with the Red Devils fanbase and the manager, Erik ten Hag, may be tested in the days to come.
This comes after the Cameroonian goalkeeper came out of retirement to feature for the Indomitable Lions in the international break against Burundi in the AFCON qualifiers.
Andre Onana had prior before his recent call-up announced his retiremnt from the International scene, with the 27-year-old even promising to Ten Hag not to return to the national team after fall out with Rigobert Song.
With the Cameroonian ending the exile this month after the World Cup clash, this puts Manchester United in a difficult spot ahead of the AFCON tournament in January.
According to The Mirror, Andre Onana never brought up the possibility of ending his international retirement during the transfer talks and even told Ten Hag there was no possibility of his return neither an intention of returning.
The Dutchman is now expected to hold talks with Andre Onana to understand what the plans are going into the African Cup of Nations tournament window.
Manchester United would be keen on a replacement in those weeks, and with second choice goalkeeper, Dean Henderson moving on from Old Trafford, the Old Trafford hierarchy would need to act fast on identifying a replacement, in the short or long term.
