Amber Heard reportedly ‘broke’, can’t pay Johnny Depp $10.4m in damages

The enormous legal fees from the defamation trial won by Amber Heard’s ex-husband, Johnny Depp has reportedly rendered her broke.

The high-profile court battle ended this week as a seven-man jury ruled in favour of Depp in the ex-couple’s defamation trial.

At the end of it all, the jury awarded him $10.35 million in damages, in contrast with $2 million awarded to Heard.

When the NBC’s TODAY show asked if Heard will be able to pay up, her lawyer Elaine Bredehoft replied, “Oh no, absolutely not”. She “has some excellent grounds for it”.

According to the Celebrity Net Worth site and other outlets, Heard’s net worth has been estimated at between $1.5 and $2.5 million as of Thursday, which is way lower than what she now owes.

However, sources told the press that the actress is “broke” due to enormous legal fees associated with the bombshell defamation trial.
