AMAA Awards: Kunle Afolayan celebrates as Anikulapo wins best overall film award
Kunle Afolayan, a well-known Nigerian film producer, is overjoyed after Anikulapo was named best overall picture at the 2023 AMAA Awards.
The African Movie Academy Awards, or AMAA, were held on Sunday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, and were hosted by Nancy Isime, Rahama Sadau, and Richard Ato Turkson.
Anikulapo, produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan, also won an award for outstanding production design. This honor was given to the late Pat Nebo by the director.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the 49-year-old thanked all of the candidates and winners, expressing his appreciation and pride.
Kunle Afolayan wrote: “I feel honoured and Appreciated.
“Award for Best overall film in an African Language “Anikulapo”.
“Award for Best Achievement in production design (Kunle Afolayan “Anikulapo”) Dedicated to the veteran Pat Nebo. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners.
