Alan Shearer slams Manchester United star

Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer has expressed concern over Manchester United player “wasting his talent” and emphasized the potential for “huge regrets” if the internal matter facing the star is not properly addressed or resolved.

Rashford found himself excluded from the Red Devils’ squad for their 4-2 victory against Newport County on Sunday following his appearance at a nightclub in Belfast on Thursday. The England international then missed training on Friday, citing illness.

Red Devils’ manager Erik ten Hag addressed the situation ahead of the game, describing it as an “internal matter” and assuring that he would handle it accordingly.

This is not the first time Ten Hag has taken disciplinary action against Rashford, as the forward was benched for an away match against Wolves last season after missing a team meeting.

Shearer, a prominent figure in football punditry, offered his perspective on the issue, stating,

“There’s a huge talent in there with Marcus Rashford. We’ve seen him be disciplined last season when he was late to a meeting before a game but something is clearly wrong – either at home or in his relationship with the football club.”

The 26-year-old forward has been urged to take responsibility for his actions and address any underlying issues affecting his behavior.

Shearer emphasized the need for strong management to guide Rashford, warning that persistent disciplinary problems could lead to significant regrets at the conclusion of his career.
