TB Joshua Burial Ondo governor akeredolu

On Friday, the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu; Wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Naomi Adeyeye; and other guests are in attendance at the interment service for the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, late Temitope Balogun Joshua.

TopNaija recalls that TB Joshua died on the 5th of June, a week before his 58th birthday.

The interment service is held at the SCOAN Headquarters, a day after the lying-in-state ceremony on Thursday, and SCOAN shared pictures of attendees on its official Facebook page.

At the funeral service for the televangelist, who is an Ondo state indigene, the Ondo state governor eulogized the deceased.

The governor said he was contacted by the monarch of Arigidi Akoko, the hometown of TB Joshua, Oba Yisa Olanipekun, to convince the family and the church to bring the remains to the hometown as the final resting place.

“When the Zaki of Arigidi-Akoko called me, he was crying on phone, he begged me to talk to the family,” he said.

“I told him there was nothing I could do because the man of God has a family and his final resting place can only be decided by them.

“Yes, he was from us, from Ondo State, he was a Nigerian but he remained a world citizen,” he added.

The governor also described the late prophet as a rare gem, adding that the renowned man of God was a blessing to humanity and a great Ambassador of the Sunshine State whose Ministry was noted for charity.

Akeredolu described the deceased as a “special child” and a man of peace and love. He said the late church leader visited him after he won the governorship election, but did not say if it was when he was first elected in 2016 or reelected in 2020. He said: “He touched lives of special people economically and spiritually. We want to recall him for the great works he did on this side of the divide.

“I can testify personally to the good things I have benefitted from him. When I won the governorship election in Ondo state. He drove to Owo and something went wrong with his vehicle in Akure. He told me he has come to wish me well and pray. And when he was leaving he put something in my pocket. I won’t tell you how much he put in my pocket.”

Akeredolu added that TB Joshua paid the electricity bills of four local governments in Ondo state and donated electrical transformers to some communities without power. He urged followers of the Synagogue church to emulate his “originality” and engage in good deeds.
