President Tinubu urges youth to cancel planned nationwide protests

President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive, instructing members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to refrain from acquiring petrol-powered cars.

The move aims to promote the adoption of CNG-enabled cars and aligns with Tinubu’s commitment to harnessing the nation’s gas resources.

According to Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s media and publicity adviser, the decision reflects Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy and aims to reduce transportation expenses while improving citizens’ quality of life.

The directive mandates all government ministries, departments, and agencies to purchase compressed-natural-gas-powered cars, setting an example for the public.

Tinubu emphasized that his administration’s energy reforms will not be reversed, stating, “This nation will not progress forward if we continue to dance on the same spot.”
