263 Boko Haram members surrender to MNJTF
The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has reported that 263 Boko Haram terrorists and their families have surrendered to its troops in the Lake Chad region.
This surrender occurred between July 11 and July 17, 2024, as part of the ongoing Operation Lake Sanity II, according to Lt.-Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Chief Military Public Information Officer of MNJTF in N’djamena, Chad.
The wave of surrenders began on July 1, when five terrorists surrendered to MNJTF troops in Wulgo, on the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

Subsequent surrenders included 19 terrorists in Madaya, Cameroon, and 11 more in Wulgo on July 11. On July 12, 64 individuals, comprising six adult males, 20 women, and 38 children, surrendered in Bonderi, Cameroon. The trend continued with 27 terrorists surrendering on July 13.
Preliminary investigations revealed that all the surrendered individuals are from Nigerian communities. They have since been handed over to the troops of Operation HADIN KAI for further action.
