25 days to handover, Ayade makes new appointments

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has made significant appointments, barely 25 days to the end of his administration.

Five new Permanent Secretaries have been announced by the state’s Head of Service, Timothy Akwaji.

These individuals were elevated from their previous positions as directors and appointed to the state public service.

In a statement released on Thursday, Akwaji conveyed the message, “His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof Ben Ayade, has approved the elevation of the underlisted directors to the rank of permanent secretary in the state public service.”

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Ushie Esther Peter, Irek Matthew Esikpe, Atim Okokon Ekpenyong, Emmanuel Egban, and Abu Ikwo Eyo.

Their appointments were effective from April 27, 2023, as stated by Akwaji.
