2023 AFCON: Official Squad Numbers for the Super Eagles

The anticipation for Nigeria’s campaign in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations heightened as the official squad numbers for the 25-man roster of the Super Eagles have been unveiled.

Francis Uzoho, the seasoned goalkeeper, has clinched the prestigious no. 1 shirt, signaling his expected role as the first-choice shot-stopper for the tournament, cementing his position between the posts.

Victor Osimhen, the prolific striker from Napoli, has secured the coveted no. 9 shirt, affirming his central role as a potent goal-scoring force for the Nigerian squad—a decision widely anticipated by fans and pundits alike.

Among other notable assignments, Ahmed Musa will sport the no. 7 jersey, Joe Aribo the no. 10, Victor Boniface the no. 24, Alex Iwobi the no. 17, Kelechi Iheanacho the no. 14, and Samuel Chukwueze the no. 11, signifying their roles within the team structure.

The Super Eagles find themselves placed in Group A for the tournament, alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau, setting the stage for captivating clashes in the group stage.

The Super Eagles are set to play 2 friendlies behind closed doors before the official AFCON tournament commences.

They will be taking on Guinea on Monday, and a local side in Abu Dhabi before leaving for Abidjan.
