World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Professional Officer in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The duration of this post is 12 months.

The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Responsibilities
The National Professional Officer will perform the following-
-Provide technical support to strengthen capacity and management to develop and implement policies and strategies, along with monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure progress at national and subnational levels.
-Support the MOHS in strengthening its leadership role and managerial skills of health managers at all levels through training, mentoring, coaching and other innovative approaches that promote good governance and improved performance of the health sector.
-Support the MOHS to strengthen its coordination and regulation functions through the development of relevant mechanisms, frameworks and effective partnerships that fosters development effectiveness principles.
-Support efforts to enhance the generation, analysis/interpretation and use of evidence for decision making through coordination with relevant directorates of MOHS.
-Support the Ministry of Health and Partners in the implementation of the health policies and systems components of relevant projects funded by external donors.

Eligibility
Applicants must have-
-University degree in Medicine, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field.
-Master’s degree in Public Health or related field.
-At least 2 years of working experience in health systems development including health policy, planning, implementing and monitoring.
-Experience working with national health authorities and with multiple high-level stakeholders.
-Excellent knowledge of English.
