Girl Dies After Being Raped To Coma In Calabar

A young girl found laying on the road at U.J. Esuene Sport Stadium, Calabar, Cross River State, on Saturday, July 21, 2018, has died, days after being rescued by the Child Protection Network (CPN) team.

According to Kebe Ikpi of Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI), the unconscious girl, who was reportedly about 17 years old, was taken to UCTH and doctor’s report states that she was raped several times before going into coma.

On the 26th of July, she showed signs of regaining consciousness, but eventually died on the 28th of July. Her corpse has since been deposited in the morgue.
