Zamfara Govt Speaks On Appointing Terrorist, Bashir Hadejia As Adviser

Reports that Bashir Hadejia, a notorious terrorist, was hired as Gov. Dauda Lawal’s technical adviser on mining have been denied by the Zamfara State government.

Hadejia was taken last Monday on charges of treason and supporting groups that work against the government.

A letter from October 27, 2023, said to be written by Mal Abubakar M. Nakwada, Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, saying that the state government gave the accused gunrunner a position. This made quite a reaction on social media.

The letter said that Hadejia was hired by the state office as the Technical Adviser for Mining.

In response to the supposed position, the Zamfara State government said in a statement that the letter going around was fake and an effort to trick people. The statement was sent out by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, who is the Senior Special Assistant on Media for the office of the secretary to the state government.

Tudu said Governor Daudu Lawal did not offer Hadejia any appointment, and the supposed appointment letter is meant to make his administration look bad.

The statement read, “For the records, Governor Lawal has not made any such appointment and Bashir Hadejia has not been appointed to any position in the present government.

“This doctored document letter is the handwork of mischief makers as part of their broader attempts to mislead the public and smear the good image of Governor Lawal’s administration.”
