Yvonne Nelson memoir sparks controversy

Yvonne Nelson reveals all about her Pregnancy, Abortion, Iyanya, and Tonto Dikeh in new memoir.

Prominent Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, finds herself at the center of a heated debate following the release of her revealing memoir titled “I am Not Yvonne Nelson” last Sunday in Ghana.

The explosive memoir has ignited a storm on social media, with opinions divided. While some applaud the actress for candidly sharing her personal story with the world, others criticize her for presenting herself as a saint while divulging intimate secrets.

In her memoir, Yvonne Nelson delves into a variety of captivating and sometimes bitter events from her life. She makes startling revelations, including the revelation that her alleged father, Mr. Oko Nelson, is not her biological father, which means she carries the wrong last name.

The 37-year-old actress also discloses her alleged pregnancy by Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie and subsequent abortion. Additionally, she discusses her ex-lover Iyanya’s alleged romantic involvement with fellow actress Tonto Dikeh.

The internet has been abuzz with discussions about Yvonne’s revelations, leading to the book quickly selling out.

Responding to Yvonne’s claims, Iyanya took to Instagram and cryptically wrote, “Wow, Na Love I Love, Na trust I trust. So Breakfast don belle full me.”

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie also weighed in, borrowing lyrics from Jay Cole’s 2014 hit song “No Role Modelz,” seemingly sending subliminal shots suggesting that Yvonne is shallow and undeserving of redemption.

While the controversy continues to escalate, Ghanaian actress-turned-businesswoman Victoria Lebene accused Yvonne of portraying herself as a saint by publicly sharing personal secrets. Lebene emphasized that everyone has their own stories and experiences with others, but not all details should be shared with the public.

Yvonne’s fans rallied behind her, with one fan named Christabel Orji criticizing the critics for their hypocrisy and suggesting that if they were to write their own memoirs, they would not receive the same level of attention, fanfare, and sales.

Another social media user acknowledged the importance of mental health and applauded Yvonne for her courage in sharing her story, expressing hope that it would inspire and heal many hearts.

Yvonne’s memoir, “I am Not Yvonne Nelson,” offers a glimpse into her intriguing life narrative, displaying the actress’s unapologetic honesty and willingness to share her truth.

The book provides an intimate look into her encounters with notable celebrities, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the full account of her experiences.
